Goat

The six major breeds of domestic goat are descended from pasangs. The pasang was probably native to Persia or Central Asia.

Archaeological evidence suggests that goats were domesticated about 9,500 years ago.

A goat is considered a "clean" animal by Jewish dietary laws. In Biblical Israel, on Yom Kippur, the festival of the Day of Atonement, two goats were chosen and lots were drawn for them. One was sacrificed and the other allowed to escape into the wilderness, symbolically carrying with it the sins of the community. Hence the word "scapegoat".

Male Goats smell so bad because they urinate on their own head, beard, and front legs to smell more attractive to females during their mating season. They also urinate on each other in order to attract mates.

Goats can be scared off by the smell of tiger excrement.
